We share the same skies...

... but the sky here is considerably bluer!!! After a traumatic goodbye at Heathrow, with the crying starting when we were told our bags were overweight (in spite of pointing out to the check-in man that as I was actually lighter than I had been at the start of the year couldn't I just have that weight as an extra allowance?!) and bartering him down to only pay for 4kg rather than the 15 or so we were over (thanks again JZ for rescuing us there!), we managed to make it all the way to Perth without any further mishaps. We even got a game of Scrabble in after 12 hours of flying!!! (MZ keeps insisting that its the quality of the words rather than the points that is important - i don't think she quite gets the whole 'win at all costs rule'! For those keeping track KZ - 2 MZ - 0)

It was very refreshing to arrive to such beautiful weather, clear blue skies and sunshine, the only fly in the ointment being the evil mosquito that bit me 11 times on the first night! Mark and Jodi have been looking after us well, Mark is thrilled that Michelle actually wants to watch football with him, and we ran into random old acquaintances from London at the meeting on Sunday (which incidentally was Kensington congregation, so I didn't really go very far at all!!)

We spent a relaxing day taking in the sites of Perth and planning our trip down south to Margaret River, which we leave for tomorrow... whilst getting very frustrated at the rubbish nature of my laptop which keeps disconnecting its wireless connection (something i might have to get someone far more technical than me to fix!).

SO sorry for the delay in posting - i'm using Mark's machine, we'll try to get better! Love to all... xx

  1. Glad to see that you've kept up the competitive spirit, even whilst on holiday. It is about points, not quality words too (sorry Mich)
