Saturdays are days for adventures and the other Saturday was no exception. We decided to take advantage of a ‘Grab-One’ offer which gave cheap ferry tickets over to Rangitoto. Rangitoto, meaning ‘Bloody Sky’ is an island in the Hauraki Gulf and is somewhat of a landmark representing Auckland . It was formed 600 – 700 years ago by a series of volcanic explosions and at 260 metres high is just asking to be climbed! (Fortunately, they don’t think it will explode again anytime soon!).
Our original idea snowballed somewhat so a group of us got the ferry over, while a few brave souls (26 of them) kayaked over. Having a dodgy shoulder is a great excuse not to – not sure what KZ’s was.
Anyway, check out some of our pics!
