Mid April heralded the arrival of 'Mom & Pops' Sanchez and one of the more random events in our social calender. Always ones to celebrate cultural roots and never be sterotypical, they were given a true kiwi welcome..
Jessamy demonstrating the 'before' and 'after' effects of getting your eyebrows threaded
As we haven't taken that many photos over the last few weeks we were racking our brains over what to put on so thought we'd make the most of our contacts over here. As most of you know, I work in the Mayor's office, so asked him if he'd be good enough to have a photo taken for the blog! He was even obliging enough to put his mayoral chains on, so that those of you that are reading this in England would know who he was!
Last night, after a quiet night in playing cards for Kz and a meal out at Josh and Shi's for me, it was suddenly deemed a good idea at 11pm to go into town and indulge in some kareoke. The fact that the place we went to was called 'Luxury' should have been a warning to us - now, maybe my ideas of luxury are too high but 'luxury' kareoke style consisted of our own room with some slightly stained sofas, three temperamental microphones and a music system that seemed to play every song pan pipe style.
However, we were not going to let this deter us and two hilarity filled hours ensued where we were able to demonstrate our vocal prowess to the backdrop of japanese versions of the music videos of our favourite songs.
Warming up!
So, this time next week, we'll be back! Looking forward to catching up with as many of you as possible in our whistle stop two week visit - and yes, start preparing yourselves now because you WILL be blogged!! (Did so well but couldn't resist them at the end!)
